1-on-1 Personalized Training
What is the process and content of 1-on-1 training?
Our 1-on-1 training is highly personalized for professionals targeting BBB, CBB, or especially Niveau C oral excellence. We leverage your existing English knowledge first: starting with "Things in Common" (cognates, shared structures ~2 hours), then "Verb Tenses and Their Respective Use," quickly moving to conversational and test-specific application. Sessions are fast-paced, engaging, and enjoyable. Every session includes detailed notes (emailed after), plenty of homework, self-study materials, videos, and our exclusive professional apps to reinforce learning and save time/money.
What is the schedule like for 1-on-1 sessions?
Completely flexible and built around your career/life—no fixed weekly times. Sessions are virtual via secure Microsoft Teams, 1 hour each ($45/hour). Schedule 1–2 per week or whatever fits; change times easily, handle emergencies, take breaks—no penalties or fees (unlike many schools). Start anytime, stop anytime, pay-as-you-go.
How many hours can I expect to need overall?
Our targeted approach is much faster than traditional programs: Most reach BBB or CBB in 14–20 hours + consistent homework/self-study. For Niveau C oral (our specialty), students routinely achieve it in under 60 hours (vs. 300+ hours elsewhere). Some advance from solid B to C in as little as 22 hours by focusing precisely on SLE test criteria. Consistent self-study between sessions accelerates results dramatically.
How much self-study time is involved between sessions?
We provide plenty of homework and self-study resources with every session (exercises, apps, videos). We recommend 3–5 hours per week (flexible to your schedule), but even less can work if you're consistent. This self-study is what makes our program so efficient and cost-effective.
How do I sign up for 1-on-1 training?
Simple and no-obligation: Contact us for a free initial assessment and consultation (via form, email info@giftofthegab.ca, or call/text 343-300-3860). We'll evaluate your level, discuss goals, and book your first session. No contracts, no minimum hours—start whenever you're ready.
Are teachers bilingual, and what platform is used?
Yes—all teachers are fully bilingual in French and English for clear, fast explanations. Sessions use secure Microsoft Teams; post-session you get class notes by email and an invoice for that hour only.
Self-Paced Video Training ($350 – Lifetime Access)
Is this suitable if I already have some French knowledge?
Whether you have little or quite a bit of French already, the Self-Paced Training is an ideal fit. It builds directly on your existing English knowledge to accelerate progress in French.
How does the training actually work?
The program starts with "Things in Common," identifying thousands of professional words you already know from English, so you can use them confidently right away. It then moves into Verb Tenses and Their Respective Use, addressing the key differences in how tenses are applied in each language. With both words and verbs covered, you are now conversational—progress happens quickly because you already know how to communicate.
What about reading and vocabulary?
Right from the start, you learn a practical technique to absorb any vocabulary you need—professional terms, work-specific jargon, or field-related language. Once you understand the words, questions become clear, and answers follow naturally.
Does it prepare for the SLE tests?
Yes—the training focuses on the specific skills required for the Écrit (Writing) and Oral components. You learn structured ways to answer questions and think in French in a professional Canadian context.
How is this different from 1-on-1 training?
The Self-Paced Training contains the exact same content and structure as our 1-on-1 Le Programme accéléré, delivered online for greater affordability and flexibility.
What makes it convenient for busy professionals?
The Self-Paced Training offers complete flexibility to study when it suits your schedule and when you are most focused. You can pause, rewind, and review sections as often as needed. You also always have access to additional clarification, questions, or homework review—an included benefit to support your progress.
